- The Maccabees were the brave Jewish soldiers who are the heroes of the Chanukah story. Being brave is when you feel scared of something, but you do it anyways because you know it’s the right thing to do. What was a time that you were brave? (Some ideas might be going to the dentist or doctor, meeting someone new for the first time, starting a new school or jumping into a pool for the first time.)
- Who do you know that is brave? Someone from a TV show or movie or book? A family member or friend? Why do you think this person is brave?
- Can you remember a time when you said something that you knew other people disagreed with, but you felt it was the truth? Tell the story.
