Gideon Ezra (14) from Haberdashers’ Aske School for boys was the winner of the joint Digital competition – Mitzva Connect run by Jewish Interactive and Mitzvah Day.
The aim of the competition was to design a digital entry about a Mitzvah project that schools all over the world could do.
Chana Kanzen, Director of Jewish Interactive UK said “We were thrilled at the level of entries we received (see all entries) and are proud that we are creating a space for children who are engaging in technology to apply their skills positively, making a difference to our community.”
Gideon explained “I designed a Mitzvah Day App that tells you information about Mitzvah day, and where your nearest participating school is”. In addition he inserted into the app prototype designs of plant pots that can be printed out and put together, filled with flowers and delivered to the elderly. Many schools participated in his project this year on Tu Bishvat.
Laura Marks, CEO of Mitzvah Day awarded Gideon his prize of a Polaroid tablet and book.
Jewish Interactive wishes to thank Mr Sam Ayal from Southern Telecom in Brooklyn, New York for his kind and generous donation of Polaroid tablets as prizes.
