Edward Gold has been a Trustee of Jewish Interactive since April 2024. Edward has been involved with the organization since 2016 as both a dedicated supporter of Ji's overall activities and specifically as our partner in the development of one of Ji's most popular interactive learning resources - the Alef Bet Hebrew Reading Curriculum. This vast project which has evolved over 8 years and was conceived by Edward who identified a serious failing in Jewish education across the globe whereby many children would reach Bar/Bat Mitzvah age with poor or non existent Hebrew literacy skills. Edward has led the project conceptually and pedagogically working together with Ji's team to create over 100 interactive games and many accompanying resources for teachers and parents to use with their kids to increase proficiency in Hebrew reading. Many thousands of children have learned to read Hebrew using this resource and Edward has plans to continue developing additional stages and build this project even further. With his extensive experience and background in finance Edward has advised Ji on many aspects connected with its funding and operational strategy and is a passionate supporter of edtech and its power within Jewish education. Edward lives in London and is involved with many other educational projects in the UK Jewish community including devoting time to teaching students of all ages to achieve competency in Hebrew reading.
