Jewish Interactive (Ji) is excited to announce Dr. Rabbi Yechiel Hoffman as its first US Director. After an extensive national search, Yechiel joins Ji to advance Ji’s activities in the United States in their mission of providing accessible and affordable high quality Jewish & Hebrew education to students through their families and schools. Yechiel will oversee Ji’s daily US operations, and will focus on advancing Ji’s development, strategic planning, outreach and partnerships.
Yechiel brings a wealth of experience in Jewish education leadership for K-12 and beyond, for a range of settings, including Jewish Day Schools, supplementary schools and community outreach. Most recently he has served as the Director of Youth Learning and Engagement for Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles, overseeing the Jewish journeys of children 0 -18 and their families. Yechiel brings a unique professional and educational background that blends expertise in Jewish education with a strong track record of innovation, relationship building and bottom line efficiency. He utilizes his entrepreneurial mindset and systems expertise to creatively realize his vision for Jewish life to empower every Jewish family to transform their children’s life journey through the application of Jewish wisdom and values.
A longtime Limmud volunteer and professional, Yechiel co-founded JEDLAB, conducts inclusivity training for educators for Keshet, and serves on the board of Jumpstart Labs. Yechiel earned a Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University, studying the value of learning networks in cultivating innovation in Jewish education. Yechiel is a recipient of the prestigious Pomegranate Prize for leading emergent Jewish educators from the Covenant Foundation and the award for Outstanding Professional Achievement from the JCPSC.
